Can anyone even read that title without hearing the catchy 80's techno-pop beat and asking, "Who ya gonna call?" The answer of course is "Ghostbusters!"

I was so impressed when I read that the script of these video game adventures were written by the creators of the movie. Dan Akroyd and the other original Ghostbusters lend their likenesses and their voices to Ghostbusters: The Video Game as well.

This is the coolest game I've ever seen. I'm not a big gamer, so that opinion might not hold weight, but I love the seamless integration of a movie storyline with a game. My son (age 5) will probably be the gamer in the family, and although I thought he might be a bit young for the game, after watching me play he bit, he soon started telling me, "No, go that way. You did that wrong. Do this instead." And so I soon left him to enjoy it for himself. This game has already provided him many hours of gaming fun.

My ten-year-old daughter enjoys it as well. She does not play enough to gain skills (my son probably plays far too much), so she'll get frustrated on certain games, but she said that she likes this one better than some of the adventure games that she's played, because you "don't die as easily." It's even better when they both play, and we just bought a second Nunchuk controller so that they could work together to defeat the "giant marshmallow guy" as Kyle called him.

There are three levels of play, so once you master the easy level, you can explore the other levels as well. In addition to battling the ghosts, there are other parts of the story that challenge you to pick up certain items along the way.

I have two little boys and I will let you know that they are all boy. They are frogs, snails and puppy dog tails. They are cowboys, transformers, Darth Vader, and pirate. Well, the older one is anyway - his younger brother just trails behind him using whatever he can find as a sword or gun.

And sandwiched right in between them is my dainty rough and tumble little girl. Sugar, Spice and everything nice does define her, though I think she may be a little heavier on the spice. She is not a fashion forward, play with dolls kinda girl - unless, of course, her doll can be the prisoner aboard her pirate ship (aka-the couch) and she can make said doll walk the plank (aka-the ottoman).

In short, I've got three average, run of the mill kiddos (though, in my mind they are significantly above average in every way, shape and form…of course) with very active imaginations.

As soon as I opened the box and pulled the wooden treasure out, my kids were mesmerized - especially my 5-year-old, whose exact words were, "Holy Cow! That is unbelievable."

I placed it on the floor and showed them how to set it up, then set them loose to play. After a few minutes, the baby needed to be distracted, but he's 18 months, so in a brief amount of time, everything becomes a chew toy. The older two, however, played for no less than an hour.

There's something so glorious about watching your children engage in true child's play. There is no sound more precious than their voices reverberating off the walls as Captain "Vader" (mmm-hmm, you read that right) defeats the evil "droids" by shooting his canons over the side of his mighty battle ship.

Those are the moments when I'm able to just sit back and take it all in. Those are moments when being a mom is nothing short of an adventure.

I will never have a dull knife again!
When I was asked to try out the Diamond Edge Gourmet Electric Knife and Scissors Sharpener, I could not turn it down. We have had knives from years ago that we have tried to sharpen. We've purchased little hand held knife sharpeners at the grocery store, in kitchen stores, and we've even taken them to the meat department at our local grocery store only to have them get dull after only a few weeks of use.

We will struggle with them trying to cut veggies or meat and get so frustrated until we can take them to get sharpened yet again. Needless to say, my hubby was really excited when this showed up at our door.

As soon as he got home, he took all of our knives out of the drawer and set up the sharpener. He did exactly as the box said and read all of the directions thoroughly before using the sharpener. Once he was sure he knew how to use it, away he went sharpening knife after knife.

We did comparison cuts with the knives and a lemon and were very surprised at the difference! The before cuts were very difficult, often squashing the lemon before the peel was even cut, but the after cuts were amazingly smooth. It cut through that lemon like it was butter. The best part was that this sharpener also sharpens serrated blades with the manual finishing slot.

Another cool feature of the Diamond Edge Gourmet Electric Knife and Scissors Sharpener, as it's name states, is the scissors sharpener.

I love to sew, and when I'm making my girls some clothing, or working on a very detailed quilt pattern, sharp scissors are a must for accurate fabric cuts.
